Livira helped Elrohir back onto the path, supporting him with her arms. She laughed as he also did, and she replied, "Oh, it's not far. We've already taken the shortcut across the lake, so we should be arriving soon. Keep strong, Elrohir, stay with me."
Soon, they came to the familiar part of the forests where building stood tall and graceful within the trees. They finally arrived at the Houses of Healing, a beautiful white building that had large windows and intricate wooden arches above each doorway and on the roof. Livira helped Elrohir up the small stairs, and they found themselves in a large main room, with a fountain and flowers all around.
"Follow me, I have a special room set just for me. I will let you use it." She led him to a room that had been forever reserved for the lady, and there was a large pillowy bed with satin sheets, and a smaller one that looked nearly the same except for size. "You can have this one," she said, laying him on the large bed. "Rest now, Elrohir. You are badly injured. Let me go get the healer, and all will be well." She bent down and kissed him on the forehead and smiled. "I'll be back."
Livira found her way to where the healers were awaiting in another room. She called out to one of the new healers. "Lady Azil...your help is now needed. Please come with me." Azil followed the queen back to the room where Elrohir lay. "We have been injured, Azil. Elrohir's wound outnumber mine, so attend to him first. My body is still weak from a poision dart, so I am sorry...I must lie down." Livira found her way to the smaller bed, and fell down upon it, weary and exhausted.

Taking the hand of the Healer Azil, Elrohir said: "Please. I am fine. Tend to Livira. You must..." but the last words were slurred as he spoke them, the comfortable bed drawing him into slumber. The pain that had become apparent to him after the adrenaline of Battle wore off, subsided again, and his head fell back onto the bed.
He could keep his eyes open no more.

Livira lay in her bed, eyes closed, but she was very awake still. She began to think about the night's entire course of events. It began with the opening of the Melui Ball, a lovely event put on by Elwood Lover. From then, she was able to learn more of the mysterious Elrohir and become friends with him. As the night waxed on, their friendship seemed to evolved into something much more intricate. Now, after sharing moments of bliss and moments of near-death, Elrohir and Livira lay in the same room in the House of Healing.
Livira thought to herself about what Elrohir had done for her. It truly was miraculous that the lady had not died, even with the immediate care by the finding of red athelas. Livira was so close to death, but she knew that Elrohir had a potential far greater than any other in the forests to save her life. In her mind, she recited a quote from a wise-woman of a realm far aways in distant lands, "The hands of the king are the hands of a healer..." It was Elrohir, not the athelas alone that had saved Livira, by the power invested in his royal hands. Together, he and the red athelas, or coicidentally known as 'kingsfoil', were able to put energy and life back into the queen's body. Truly Livira had wisdom in knowing this.
She still lay there, listening to Elrohir speak his last words to Azil before falling asleep. She listened to the soft night winds blow outside the building.

Azil was working furiously, crushing herbs and mixing spices. Her heartbeat was very quick, as she had been having a quiet night when Livira and Elrohir staggered in, both of them lucky to be alive at all. Elrohir had almost as much poison as he did blood, and the Queen, well, the queen was a perplexing matter. Elrohir had nearly used up what was left of his strength refusing Azil's help, pleading with her to help Livira first.
She walked over to him. He was now deep in a dreamless sleep brought on by some ether, though he'd needed a heavy dose as he was determined to save Livira through his strength alone. Azil set down the mortar and emptied the pestle into a glass. Adding some sugar it fizzed, perfect. She opened his mouth, and poured it down. She changed his bandages again as they were being bloodied up far too quickly. She listened to his breathing, which was finally slowing and becoming easier. His face even had some color coming back into it.
Now for the Lady. Azil was unsure how she had made it there, but it seemed that someone had done an admittedly good job bandaging the athelas to her shoulder. Azil replaced them with some more from the house's store. She was about to pour a rather nasty tasting draught into the Queen, when she realized Livira was awake and watching her.
"Perhaps you'd like pour it down on your own? I expected so. I don't suppose you'd like t explain all these wounds?" The Lady made a face as the marclebee juice went down, and started to answer.

Livira stared at Azil, who was too close for comfort, ready to pour the vile drink down her throat. "Azil, thank you, I can take it myself." Livira grabbed the glass and drank the juice, tasting the bitterness as it flowed down her throat. Almost immediately, she was feeling better, as her energy was coming back to her, and her shoulder did not hurt as much as it had before, though it still stung.
She sat up slowly, then gave the empty glass back to Azil. "Hannon le, Azil, I am feeling better now." Azil stepped away, and Livira sat in her bed, focusing her gaze upon the resting Elrohir. He seemed to be improving, and Livira noticed his wounds on his side and hands were adequately taken care of. They would be completely healed within a day. It was the elvish medicine that had worked so well and quickly over the millennia, that even this day, it proved to be the best remedy in the land. ~~~~~~
A few hours had passed, and Livira had regained the majority of her strength back. She slipped off of the silky bed and walked over to Elrohir. She hopped up onto the empty side of the bed and sat next to him, hoping he'd awake soon so she could speak with him again. Her hand pushed back a piece of hair that covered his face, and she wiped his forehead with a cold damp cloth.
"Elrohir..." she said, seeing his eyes begin to flutter open. "Can you hear me?"

A pleasant site welcomed Elrohir from his long sleep. As he saw Livira over him, a nd even though she looked fairly concerned, he finally knew she would be safe.
"Livira?.....Livira!" a small wry smile appeared on his lips. Not yet sitting up he asked:"So what did you think to our first date?".
He was grinning broadly now.

Livira smiled greatly and looked at Elrohir as he woke. She gladly smiled continually, and shook her head slightly as he spoke to her. "You never cease to surprise me...you curious thing." She lifted him up to a sitting position, and addressed his inquiry.
"It was wonderful, Elrohir. It was the most fun I've ever had in years. I've been so used to being stuck in my stuffy throne room attending to strict royal business. Thank you again, for the date...and for saving me. I'm glad that we were able to get here in time as well."

"All in a hard days work" he replied, winking at her almost unnoticably.
But now Elrhir wanted to turn the mood serious again. He always found that for his knights, and himself when wounded, laughter truly was an excellent medicine.
But he wanted to learn more of Livira. So many questions were buzzing through his mind. It was morning already, and the rising sun was shining through the stained glass window, with a female Elf dressed in red and white robes, tending over a sick victim.
"Do you know when will Azil allow me leave, Livira? I wish to explore your realm further, and I hope that you will be at my side, or rather, I will be at your side. I hope there are more incredible places for me too see such as last night". Thoughts flashed through Elrohirs mind. The attackers. They had not yet been apprehended. Two of them were slain at his own hand, and their fowl bests, but at least two were out there, perhaps in the grounds.
"Livira!" Elrohir exclaimed seemingly out of nowwhere, his trail of thought had happened in an instant. "Those assassins are out there!"
He tried to get up, but Livira pushed his shoulders down, and he could not get up, or even compete with her, his strength sapped from the nights actions.
"I am sorry, Livira, but I care for you, more than I have ever cared for anyone. For any harm to come to you would be the end of me as well, and though I would gladly travel to the halls of Mandos to save you, I am unwilling to make that journey if you would die."
"They were merceneries, they care nothing of others, only for jewels and gold, that they store in their mountain caves. They hunt in 'Wolf-packs' of five people" he remembered. "So three are at large"
"Where can we travel to where you are safe? I have no will to fight, but if I must then I will take up my sword against them"

Livira talked with Elrohir, noticing he was growing stronger with each undying breath. "You will be released within the day. I foresee you stepping forth from your bed before this eve's nightfall. You are improving beyond Azil's expectations."
With her keen ears, she followed his story about the assassins who pursued her that previous night. "Elrohir, fear not, for my people can take care of them for me. You will not have to fight them off again." She knew that her forests would now be safer, since the ambush had been stopped and word was now out about the vile creatures.
Elrohir spoke again. "I am sorry, Livira, but I care for you, more than I have ever cared for anyone. For any harm to come to you would be the end of me as well, and though I would gladly travel to the halls of Mandos to save you, I am unwilling to make that journey if you would die." Livira placed her soft hand upon his bandaged hand.
"I too, care for you Elrohir, and I do not wish for anything more to happen to you. I know you would travel to the halls of Mandos for me, but I assure you, it is not yet your time, and maybe it never will be. We are relatively safe now, but as you suggested, for a time, we should go to a safer place until the assassins have been properly taken care of."
"Later in the day, assuming you are feeling up to par, we will travel to the town of Naillen. It is just downstream a few miles, and there, I have allies who can keep us in their small castle. We should be fine until I hear word from Elwood that the assassins have been terminated."

Laying his hand on Liviras knee, Elrohir allowed himself to relax again. The borders had perhaps been lacking on their protection, but in the heightened state of alert, he knew they would not return so easily.
Elrohir saw the shadows under Liviras eyes,"You look tired, Livira." he said. Placing his arm around her back he lowered her onto her back, and kissed her for a second or so, before lying down himself. 'Go to sleep if you wish. I am tired still, and if we travel by night we will be safer anyway. Trying to spot a walking Elf in the night is harder than trying to catch a fly with two twigs."

Livira nodded. "Alright, I will slumber for a while, then we shall depart. You are wise in your choices, Master Elrohir..." She closed her weary eyes and slept some more, regaining as much strength as possible.
~~~~~~ The day faded away as they slept, turning into the black night. Livira stirred, then woke, to see Elrohir still napping. She came off of the bed, and found her way to a small dresser in the room, where her clothes had been kept for her. She slipped on a pair of leather riding pants and a simple tan dress. She did not want to attract attention, so she posed as a civilian for the time. Then, after she was ready, she woke Elrohir.
"Veleth nin, are you strong enough to depart now? It is nightfall and we must hurry. Come, I will show you the way."
The sleep had given Elrohir the world of good. He was still in his own trousers, but his shirt had been taken, and he now wore a white top given to him by Azil the healer, apparently he had not woken when he was dressed.
He followed Livira, and closely behind her they flew silently out of the door, even the listening nurse did not hear them depart. Darting down a flight of stairs, Elrohir followed Livira.
"I must go to my room, to get fresh clothes. This white top shines out like a beacon in the night. I am staying in the castle. Is there anything you need?
"Well, I believe I have everything I need...except my sword. Would you mind getting it for me? It's in my throne room, in the armoire by the window. " Livira watched as he left to go throw some fresh clothes on, and she nodded to him as he left.
"I'll get the boat ready while you are changing," she said, heading toward the Ngalad river.
She found her way to a small portion of shore where some old canoes were stored. She pulled one out, and checked for leaks-none were found. She tossed her small bag filled with a number of lembas portions wrapped in mallorn leaves. She then stood on the shore, well aware of her surroundings, checking every few minutes just to be sure she wasn't being followed. She waited for Elrohir to return, and after a few minutes, saw him quietly running toward the boat in a new set of clothes.
Elrohir was wearing a black shirt, that was neither tight nor loose, but comfortable for whatever travelling he may have to do.
He wore a long cloak, as he usually did at night, for it concealed his mighty sword, Angrist, on his back. It was wellhidden, but could be drawn with a moments notice.
In his hand he carried a sheathed sword.
"I nearly got seen by someone in your throne room. I thougt it best to be discreet. I thik that he was from Lorien, as he wore a crest that I know is from there."
He was not tired from the run, in fact he was rather motivated by it.
"You know I like a woman with a sword, Livira." he smiled as he handed it to her.
