"...er...yes, I'd love to." Blaen did find interest in these fragments. He knew his own past as well. The elvish friend was an ancestor of his. However, Blaen could not take his mind off of the beautiful jewel he had seen before. "Toriana, I do find these thing interesting. But...what was that I saw before? I...don't want to make things uncomfortable but it was just something I have never seen before. I understand if it is necessary that it be kept secret...that comes in my line of work. And remember, if at any time this becomes uncomfortable just ask and I will depart." Blaen hoped she would understand his fascination with the object. Perhaps it could be of use...But, no...he could never ask that of her. It was precious and could not be used for such a task. "I don't have to see it again, but I would like, if possible, to know at least its origin..."

Toriana thought about it for a moment. He seemed genuine, fairly trustworthy. Besides, it wasn't likely any of the elves around would recognize it anyhow. She sighed, then smiled. "Oh, alright. I will show it to you." She stood up and shook her shoulders, happily smiling while talking, "Well, it is my favourite one!" She went over to her bag and pulled out the little wad of velvet and brought it carefully back with her. She opened away the velvet to reveal the most beautiful pendant she had ever laid her violet eyes upon.

He could see that Toriana was still unsure whether to trust him. He looked into her eyes urging her to trust him. When she stood up Blaen was happy to see that she trusted him enough. Blaen looked at the breathtaking pendant. "It's amazing. Where did you get it?" Blaen looked at it more carefully. "Wait. This engraving here." Only a rangers eyes could have seen it without knowing of it beforehand. "This...this came from the city. Deep within the city, underneath the city. As far as I knew it's existence was rumor. How did you find such an artifact? I truly," he looked into Toriana's eyes "am amazed. I can't believe it actually exists. Do you know the legend behind it?"

Toriana watched to make sure Blaen was handling the pendant well, he apparently was. He then asked about its origin of it. "Well, I know a little bit about it. I know that it is very powerful and can cause a great deal of damage when in the wrong hands. But I don't understand why I got it. I received it from the queen in Ealdor about a year ago, and my father has tried to steal it from me many times. I have kept it hidden well, but I was afraid that after so long, his greedy eyes would find it. That is another reason why I fled my city."
"I am still baffled though as to why the queen put it in my possession, of all people in the land of Gildor. I am just a plain horse girl, while there are many much more brave and strong willed men in the city. Why not them?" She shook her head, as if it meant she couldn't have changed anything anyway. "I suppose that I must keep it safe and hidden, but I really have not deciphered what it does yet."

"This is the rumored Stone of Jade. Long aog it was once in the possesion of a fair woman of importance within the city. She was thought to be a sorceror not from this land and used this stone for her purposes. Supposedly it is the most powerful object that has existed in the realm of men. Perhaps you were meant to carry it. I believe you have come in contact with it to protect it from outside...influences."
Blaen looked at her to make sure she understood. With a look of satisfaction Blaen understood he could continue. "It is said that the Stone of Jade will reflect the true personality of he who holds it. Or she in this case." Blaen chuckled. He watched the stone as he handed it to Toriana. It seemed to glow brighter as she took hold. It was truly an object to be desired...
"I do hope I haven't kept you up too late. Such things as this are such a fascination. I've always loved old artifacts. I find that oftentimes they help sharpen my senses, make me stronger, help me when I'm in need. Take care of that Stone. Obviously no one is to be in possesion of it but yourself."

Toriana sat on the bed, amazed at what Blaen seemed to know about the stone. It seemed like he knew more than she did. Well, she didn't know that much about it in the first place. She had no idea that perhaps she would be the right one to hold this stone and protect it. "Blaen, wow. You do seem to know much about this jewel. Your discoveries and knowledge about all these artifacts amazes me. I sure hope that I am meant for this stone." She looked at him, a little puzzled though. "What do you think will happen to me Blaen if I keep it?"
